🕺 Ford Focus 1.6 Tdci Engine Malfunction Light

Wasn't actually an engine malfunction symbol that iluminated - the words came up on the LED in the centre of the instrument cluster. Got a diagnostic check carried out and one fault code appeared - 'P1204 Cylinder No.4 injector open/short circuit.' The dash panel says Engine Malfunction and the ESP indicator comes on solid. If I turn the ignition off for a few seconds, and restart, it is fine again- sometimes for all day- and sometimes for only a few minutes. I have had it on the computer and there are no engine fault codes coming up at all. On the 1.6 TDCI, their failure usually shows the 'Engine Malfunction' message on the dash, but not the engine light. After it's happened once, usually it'll happen again within the next few days. Other common triggers on the 1.6 TDCI would be EGR or underboost from a split/cracked boost pipe. Quote.
