Hey guys, Just wondering, obviously there is lots i'd like to do to my t-jet but most them cost a lot of money and funds are limited i.e induction, turbo, lowering, exhaust, remap etc. My question is are there any decent alternatives to Forge or GSR induction that don't cost as much and have
hello again , can anyone tell me if the turbo on the t-jet engine is reliable , hear a lot about modern turbos not beng very good but how are the ones on the t-jet , i know its a powerful engine but is it reliable , cheers :)
Find your Fiat Grande Punto. upgrade package. as the 1.4-litre T-Jet engine gets a power hike with the addition of a performance air filter, larger turbo, bigger exhaust and remapped ECU.
sorry if this have been covered, I'm looking to buy a t-jet and want to know the gains of a remap. 160bhp+ would be nice :D modifications would be de-cat straight throw. Pannel air filter, don't want a cone they look silly. bigger intercooler hidden at the front. Phill.
I know of a Panda 1000HP owner that has done it sucessfully but he did just about all of the work himself. I know of someone else doing it to a mk2b sporting aswell. But as said its pointless when there is already a version of the car with a turbo'd engine. Will be cheaper for you to upgrade to a jet than to retro fit to your car.
Oct 15, 2011. #4. Probably a MAP sensor fault. Sometimes they clog-up and the readings go out of calibration. You (or your mechanic) can confirm this by seeing if the MAP sensor reading matches the atmospheric air pressure reading with the engine not running. Sometimes the wastegate/actuator on the turbo can seize in the closed position, so the
Thats what I thought too but standard my car was 124bhp with forge induction. Different places give different figures, doesnt mean my car is slower than a red dot remap, which there standard power and remap power seem to be high when rolling roaded there. Its about how there rolling road is
Hey all! YES I know how to use the search tool it's rather handy :thumb: but iv'e searched around and cant find all the answers I want on this topic! So
Advised by dealer I had suffered a turbo failure and this tends to happen to these cars at my mileage of 70,000. Cost me £987 for a reconditioned turbo. I suspect it was due to oil starvation. Now have a car with oil drink problem with unidentified cause and a loud booming noise coming from engine which dealer again can't identify.
GP Abarth is great as a PACKAGE. Tuned GP T-Jet might be faster from a standing start and on long straights, but that would pretty much be it. Unworthy of the price the "upgrade" would cost imho, with the Abarth version available. But people are different. I like handling and overall feel of the car over power. Some don't.
